…and that’s a wrap!

Rod Paton’s Ascension Jazzmass kicked off the Brecon Choir Festival 2023 at a packed Brecon Cathedral.

What a few days we had! Who could have thought that the second edition of
the Brecon Choir Festival would have had a visit from The King and The
Queen on the first day and that they would sell out nearly all events!

On Thursday morning, in front of their Majesties, the Young Singer Award
Winner Erin Thomas, the New Ascension Singers and Rod Paton gave a
performance truly fit for a King with the Benedictus from the Ascension
Jazzmass. This was before a packed out cathedral in the evening which saw
Rod’s Ascension Jazzmass in full, with some spectacular singing and
instrumentalists including

Welsh jazz pianist Huw Warren.
